About the Bentwood Chair

The bentwood silhouette — three graceful arches curving into a rounded back — is the shape most people picture when they describe a rustic or vineyard wedding. It reads as timber, photographs warm, and softens a room in a way that a metallic-look banquet chair never will.

We build it in resin with a wood-grain finish rather than solid timber. The look is the same at arm's length, but the chair does not dry out, split or need re-finishing, and it costs a fraction of what a genuine bentwood frame costs to replace when a guest drops one.

Natural and chestnut cover the rustic and vintage briefs; black and white handle the more contemporary end. The chair stacks, which matters if you are storing three hundred of them between seasons.

Is this real wood or resin?

It is moulded resin with a wood-grain finish. From a normal viewing distance it reads as timber, but it will not warp, split or need re-oiling, and it handles outdoor ceremonies far better than solid wood.

Will the wood tone match my existing chairs?

Send us a photo of the chairs you already own and we will tell you which of our finishes is closest. For volume orders we can also match a specific tone.

What are the dimensions and weight?

Is a cushion available?

Yes — our standard tie-on seat cushions fit this model. Tell us the colour you need and we will match it to the frame finish.
